Simeon Wilson, 41, left the mother of his child "scared to leave the house" after the end of their relationship resulted in recrimination, strangulation and stalking last year.

Bombarding her with vile and threatening messages, Wilson, of Leahurst Road, Harborne, also ripped two Ring doorbell cameras off her Oldbury home's wall leaving her feeling even more vulnerable.

However, it was footage taken on the cameras that would eventually be used as evidence against him. Ignoring none-molestation orders, Wilson made his ex-partner's life a misery.

Wilson was due to stand trial for threats to kill, breaching a none-molestation order, dangerous driving, criminal damage and harassment. However, on the first morning of the trial after reviewing the evidence, Wilson pleaded guilty to alternative charges of theft, stalking, assault causing actual bodily harm and dangerous driving.

He was sentenced to 40 months in at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday by Recorder Rebecca Wade.
